چکیده

High-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (HPFRC) can be considered a promising material for the construction of precast girders road bridges. This paper presents conceptual considerations and numerical analysis to support this statement. The HPFRC is compromised alternative between FRC UHPFRC mixes. Specifically, tailor-made mix design jointly developed by ACCIONA authors presented, then compared with other types concretes collected from technical literature. In addition, some trends observed in database are described. characterization followed advantages application proposed bridge case 60 m-span box girder analyzed. A comparison alternatives based on use conventional reinforced discussed. results shed light viability application. main finding show potential significant savings structural elements superstructure. Finally, ongoing future research wide sector briefly

Foam Concrete Precast Elements in Composite Concrete-GFRP Plate Girders

This paper is focused on using foam concrete as structural element in polymer-concrete composite plate girders. Trial mixes of foam concrete and different proportions of foam agent were considered to obtain the suitable mix that can be used as structural element in composite girders system. Details of the experimental investigations on foam concrete precast slabs and polymer-concrete composite ...

Effects of Temperature Variations on Precast, Prestressed Concrete Bridge Girders

The monitoring of a precast, prestressed girder bridge during fabrication and service provided the opportunity to observe temperature variations and to evaluate the accuracy of calculated strains and cambers. The use of high curing temperatures during fabrication affects the level of prestress because the strand length is fixed during the heating, the coefficients of thermal expansion of steel ...

Applications and Properties of Fibre Reinforced Concrete

In conventional concrete, micro-cracks develop before structure is loaded because of drying shrinkage and other causes of volume change. When the structure is loaded, the micro cracks open up and propagate because of development of such micro-cracks, results in inelastic deformation in concrete. Fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) is cementing concrete reinforced mixture with more or less randomly ...

Heuristic optimization of prestressed concrete precast pedestrian bridges

This paper deals with the economic optimization of prestressed concrete precast pedestrian bridges typically used in public works construction. These bridges are made of a precast concrete beam that integrates an upper reinforced concrete slab for the pedestrian traffic. The beam has a U-shape cross-section. Typical span lengths range from 20 to 40 m and the width ranges from 3.00 to 6.00 m. Th...
